Diskusná téma Has anyone cycled around the Tatras ?

Thanks for the feedback !
In fact the border in Oravice is one of the 2 points I have doubts. On the map between Oravice and the Chocholowska valley, there is no road. But on the slovak side there is what seems to be a track, almost until the border. On Polish side I saw there are many settlements and tracks. I assume there is some 200m of "wild crossing" in the forest, but it shouldn"t be too long. Since there is Schengen and this place is outside the park, I think it should be ok... Well, I hope. Generally my idea is to avoid roads, and I want to avoid going as far as Sucha Hora.
The other place I am worring a bit, is the section on the south from Jalovec to Kvaciany. All maps show something different, and unlike the rest of the way along south side of West Tatras, reaching Kviacany might be a bit more complicated. Any map of trails of this very place is welcome !

The southern part of your project (across Slovakia) is O.K. But I don´t recommend to go across Witowska Magura (from Oravice to Witow) – it is uneasy way. The better way is Oravice-Vitanova-Sucha Hora (SK-PL boundary). And here is my proposal for northern (polish) way around Tatras (by my experience): Chocholow-Dzianisz-Gubalowka-Zab-Poronin-Male Ciche-Lysa Polana( PL-SK boundary). Good luck and enjoy the cycling around the Tatras!
